Cyclic vomiting syndrome is a rare disease and generally affects to children. As it is rare some patients are misdiagnosed.
It is a disorder that appears with sudden, repeated attacks of nausea and vomiting that can last from a few hours to several days.
Its a type of abdominal migraine with recurrent vomiting.
Symptoms
Major symptoms of CVS:
- Severe nausea and vomiting.
- Repeated attacks in form of episode.
- Episode can present from few hours to several days.
Treatment
- As it is a rare diagnosis, there is no specific cure for a permanent relief. Only symptom (nausea and vomiting) treat with anti emetic drugs.
- It is also includes migraine medication (Sumatriptan).
